In this case i used Procreate , a similar app to Photoshop. To complete the process of ’the unknown’ I’ve been Getting that ‘poke’ to get back into my fantasy illustrations again, so I stepped right out into the void and threw caution to the wind, and ended up with SköllMaüse. …☠️So Say hello to my little three headed friend!. All the perks and power of Cerberus, but in a super convenient fun size!

Its funny, reading back over something you wrote when introducing or in my case ‘explaining’ an artwork. At the time I thought that little mousey dude was pretty cool!. But a year later, although the concept is still awesome, the execution is not great… Sometimes an idea doesn’t hit the way you want, maybe it’s not time for him to ‘be. Or maybe you over do the textures and brushes and kill the wee mite before he’s been drawn into the world. Killed with creative kindness.
The fact is, the mouse element wasn’t fitting my original idea, and honestly Everything about him SUCKED! I’ve never drawn rats or mice before either, their little fingers are murder to draw. But the time to redo SköllMause as he was intended (hopefully) was here. and I had to redo him so I could move on to something else! Forever haunted by my crappy drawings of the past…
SköllMause – character Epilogue
The SköllMause: Krystààl Potion Bottles- a thing to daydream about for those who dabble in the ‘Ethers’.An item of such potential and promise to its bearer that many are blinded by their desire for it. Would go to any means to lay claim to one, war was not a deterrent.
Its power however unfathomable in its monstrosity, was not of its own making. Like many artefacts of this kind,, its handler was one of the most unlikely of creatures. In fact, without his intervention this potion is IMPOSSIBLE to create, let alone wield. He is named ‘SköllMause’ – and first impressions don’t sway much beyond that Character design – redrawing an old illustration
of a common field mouse. Small, furry…adorable…. But what’s that on his tail? A small skull, adorned with feathers and other small items is grasped tightly by his tail and held aloft, always swaying lazily back and forth. Like all dangerous things, This Skull Totem is both an indicator of his power and a warning if any should happen upon him- “Don’t mistake me for another”
Little more is known about this reclusive beastie…
